IBK Investment & Securities CEO, Seo Jeong-hak, has announced that the companys management goal for this year is to achieve "superiority in IBKS through comprehensive management and innovative growth" and to make a new leap forward.
In his New Years message on the 2nd, Seo stated, "Last year, we established a new vision, IBK Investment & Securities, which is truly good for the people and small and medium-sized enterprises, and focused on enhancing profitability. As a result, our asset size, number of accounts, and bond supply and intermediation significantly increased, and the profit structure, which had been heavily skewed towards corporate finance (IB), achieved balance."
He further added, "Although we successfully overcame the difficulties of the past year, there are many predictions that the dark tunnel will continue this year. In order to overcome the crisis and discover sustainable growth drivers, we have set new management goals."
The four key tasks for achieving these management goals include nurturing growth businesses for competitive advantage, achieving a significant lead in specialized middle-market businesses, promoting innovation in the digital transformation (DT) sector, and strengthening the foundation of comprehensive management. Seo emphasized that the company will first enhance its bond business to strengthen its position in the market and take the lead in the initial public offering (IPO) sector by overseeing KOSPI listings.
In addition, Seo highlighted the support for small and medium-sized enterprises as the identity and competitiveness of IBK Investment & Securities, and stated that the company will increase the number of listing applications and improve performance by operating various sizes of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) to achieve the top position in the middle-market IPO industry.
Regarding digital transformation, Seo stated, "Digital innovation means an increase in customer base." He added, "We will revamp the mobile trading system (MTS) to enhance channels and provide stable services. We will also introduce generative artificial intelligence (AI) services to improve research quality."
