On the 21st, Lee Jeong-hyun, the head of the candidate management committee of the People Power Party in South Korea, faced criticism for wearing a military-style field jacket during his first committee meeting. Some observers likened his outfit to a military coup, to which Lee responded, "There are so many peculiar mothers-in-law."

In a post on his social media, he remarked, "Im getting criticized for my jacket. Its nothing special. Its a uniform for someone who jumps into crisis situations." He explained that given the current difficulties faced by both the party and the public, he believed that a work uniform was more appropriate than a suit.

Lee added, "When a daughter-in-law is disliked, they say her heels look like eggs. There are indeed many unusual mothers-in-law."

He further emphasized, "Its not Gucci or Pierre Cardin; its just a 50,000-won outfit bought from a traditional market, and calling it a coup is quite the exaggeration. If thats the case, then there’s something wrong with the mindset."

He reflected on his past, stating, "I never thought that the khaki work jacket I wore throughout my university days after dyeing it black would become such a thorn in the side of others. No matter how much jealousy there is, I will have to keep wearing it for the next three months and ten days."
