Arte Salon Unveils Regular Lecture Lineup for the First Half of 2026
Arte, the largest cultural and arts platform in Korea, has announced the lineup for its offline lecture program, Arte Salon, for the first half of 2026. Launched in September last year, Arte Salon is expanding its seasonal regular courses this year and will continue to host Artist Talks where artists meet directly with readers.
The regular courses are categorized into classical music, visual arts, and film music. In the realm of classical music, two courses will delve into the lives of conductors and performers in depth.
The first course, Conductors Journey Series, led by flutist and music critic, will run from March 18 to April 22, meeting every Wednesday for six sessions. This course will explore the musical worlds of renowned maestros such as Claudio Abbado, Mariss Jansons, and Christian Thielemann, who have made significant impacts in the classical music scene.
The second course, Musicians I Have Met, presented by another music critic, will take place from April 21 to May 19, occurring every Tuesday over four sessions. This course will share vivid anecdotes from over thirty years of interviews with musical greats, unfolding the stories behind interviews and performance characteristics in a classical documentary format.
Additionally, there will be a film music course led by a former CBS announcer, focusing on the theme Hear the Film, See the Music. This course will assist newcomers to film music by exploring well-known soundtracks from movies such as Scent of a Woman, Mission, and Between Calm and Passion.
Arte Salons mission is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural and artistic expressions through these engaging and informative courses, making the arts more accessible to the public.
