Chungju City, located in North Chungcheong Province, has been selected as a Representative Brand of Korea for 2026. This recognition is attributed to the citys proactive administrative efforts centered around businesses and various infrastructure support aimed at enhancing corporate competitiveness. Chungju is establishing itself as a business-friendly city by expanding administrative and financial support for companies.

The city is making significant strides in developing additional industrial complexes to provide timely land supply for manufacturing, including the Biohealth National Industrial Complex and the Dream Park Industrial Complex. Chungju is also laying the groundwork for nurturing new industries, highlighted by the establishment of the Chungcheong Campus of the Advanced Technology Research Institute for regional industrial innovation and the completion of the Chungju Knowledge Industry Center. Furthermore, the city is promoting the creation of a specialized energy complex at the Chungju Dam to secure future competitiveness for local industries.

In terms of transportation infrastructure, Chungju has achieved remarkable progress. The opening of the Central Inland Line Railway, which connects Pangyo, Icheon, Chungju, and Mungyeong, has unified these areas into a single living zone within an hour. Additionally, the opening of the Chungju section of the Chungcheong Inland Expressway has improved geographical accessibility significantly. The availability of affordable industrial land and abundant water resources also serve as substantial advantages in attracting businesses.

Chungjus efforts in talent development and job creation have also received positive evaluations. The city has formed a close network with local specialized high schools, Korea National University of Transportation, Konkuk University Glocal Campus, and Korea Polytechnic University to tailor training programs for job seekers. They actively operate on-site programs such as employment seminars and job fairs aimed at the youth, leading the way in creating quality job opportunities.

Acting Mayor Kim Jin-seok stated, Being recognized as a business-friendly city for 14 consecutive years is a remarkable achievement that enhances Chungjus brand value. The citys continuous efforts in fostering a conducive environment for businesses and nurturing local talent highlight its commitment to sustainable economic development.
