Former Dentist Lee Soo-jin Opens Up About Life After Clinic Closure
Lee Soo-jin, a dentist and graduate of Seoul National University, has candidly shared her feelings regarding the reactions of those around her following the closure of her dental clinic. On June 6, she took to social media to express her thoughts, stating, "Do you know that these days, the people who are happy about my failure and those who come to gawk at me are about half and half?" She added, "Is there anyone else at 58 years old who has gone bust and rides the bus, other than me?" Along with her post, she shared a video filmed at a bus stop.
In the video, Lee Soo-jin is seen sitting at a bus stop making a V-sign with her fingers towards the camera. She also posted a picture of herself in a doctors gown with the caption, "But it still looks really fancy. There’s a lot of controversy. Am I the only one?"
She remarked, "I have lost my health and my money, but my skin is still clear," drawing attention as she promoted a product related to a group purchase she is conducting. Born in 1969, Lee Soo-jin graduated from the School of Dentistry at Seoul National University and had been running her clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, while also working as an influencer. However, she became embroiled in controversy last year when allegations of mismanagement arose during her clinics closure.
Lee Soo-jin denied the allegations, stating, "I had to close my dental clinic due to threats from a stalker, and the delays in refunds were merely a consequence of that situation." She previously revealed through social media that the stalker who is currently incarcerated had sent her a letter threatening to kill her, which resulted in an additional 10-month sentence for the perpetrator. She has been vocal about her long-standing experience with stalking.
Regarding the financial difficulties her dental practice faced, Lee Soo-jin mentioned, "I operated the clinic too large and luxuriously on Garosu-gil. With a significant drop in Chinese patients and the influx of international celebrities coming to a halt, the balance between income and expenses was disrupted."
