GS25, operated by GS Retail, recently used AI technology for various aspects of its convenience store operations, from package design to promotional videos, according to industry insiders on the 17th.
GS Retail introduced that AI was responsible for the packaging design of recently launched products such as "Simply Cooked Taco", "Seasonal Radish Salad", and "Fruit Fruit Fruit Jelly". Designers inputted text and related image files that captured the features of the products into an AI-generated program to create the package design and contents.
Furthermore, GS25 utilized AI-created product promotion videos on the social networking service (SNS), Instagram, to engage in social content storytelling marketing. A GS Retail representative explained that content generated by AI is effective in arousing customers curiosity and interest, and added that they plan to continue incorporating AI technology for product launches and various marketing activities, including entertaining content.
Hyundai Home Shopping has also been utilizing AI technology in its livestreaming program since last month. The program features a host alongside a 3D avatar created using image generation AI technology. The avatar takes on tasks such as providing additional explanations about products and materials, as well as answering viewer questions. The ability to quickly showcase the avatar in various outfits, thanks to the applied image generation AI technology, is another advantage. For instance, when a viewer asks, "Does it go well with jeans?", the avatar promptly demonstrates the product while wearing jeans. A Hyundai Home Shopping representative stated that they can generate up to 20 different stylings within a minute, highlighting the real-time image generation capability.
