Singer Kim Heung-guk Reacts to Malicious Comments on YouTube Before Broadcasting Return
Singer Kim Heung-guk, who recently declared a political severance, has begun communicating with his fans through YouTube ahead of his return to broadcasting. In a recent video titled Heung to the Future EP.1: Reading Malicious Comments Made Me Cry, he emotionally reacted to some negative comments he received.
In the video uploaded on his YouTube channel Kim Heung-guks Ddeuri TV, Kim read about ten selected comments compiled by the production team, responding to each one either by refuting or acknowledging the remarks.
One comment stated, You cant sing, play soccer, and you dont seem like a Marine either. Kim responded, "If I couldnt sing, how would I have become a singer?" He referenced his past band activities and his debut process. He expressed a desire to confront the commenter in person, asking, "Do you sing well?"
When discussing his soccer skills, Kim stated, "I officially learned soccer when I was 11 years old and have been playing for 50 years now. I even played soccer with Maradona in Dongdaemun. Ive played with star soccer players in Korea. Just ask them."
Regarding the comment about being a Marine, he provided specific dates to counter the claim. Kim shared, "On April 2, 1980, I took a train from Yongsan Station to Jinhae. I was in the Marine Corps 401st class. I also served as a public relations ambassador for the Marines. I love the Marines and will stand by them until I die."
When a comment labeled him as a disgrace to the Marines, he boldly replied, "There are over a million Marines who like me. I don’t believe thats disgraceful. It would be better to call me a Marine pride instead."
Another comment read, You’re going to starve to death doing YouTube because your income has dried up. Kim addressed this by saying, "Why would my income be cut off…" This emotional yet assertive response to criticism marks a significant moment for the singer as he prepares to reconnect with his audience in the broadcasting world.
